The Kamisafe KM-8006A, commonly known as the Kamisafe solar home lighting kit, is a complete off-grid lighting and mobile power system. The solar panel charges a built-in battery during the day. At night you get bright light from three LED bulbs, a handy front torch, and power to charge your phone.

Key Features

• Complete solar kit in one box: It comes with a portable battery unit, a separate solar panel and three LED bulbs on long cords. You can light your home without grid electricity or an installer.

• Solar-powered charging: The included solar panel can sit on a roof, a windowsill or anywhere in the sun while the main unit stays indoors. Retailer listings describe it as a 9V DC, 3–7W panel that charges the battery during the day.

• Built-in rechargeable battery: The unit houses a sealed 6V 4Ah rechargeable battery. It stores the solar energy for evening use and for blackouts, so you don’t need to buy fuel or disposable batteries.

• Three LED bulbs with individual switching: The three low-consumption LED bulbs run on 6V DC and can be hung in different rooms from their long cords. Retailer listings say each bulb can be switched on and off separately, so you only use the light you need and make the battery last longer.

• Front-mounted torch: A built-in torch on the front of the unit gives you a portable light for walking around outside, checking the compound at night or finding your way in a power cut.

• Mobile phone charging: The box lists Mobile Charge as a feature. The kit is sold with a multi-plug USB charging cable (per retailers) that lets you charge phones and other small devices when the grid is down.

• Easy one-switch control: A clearly marked red power switch on the front of the unit makes it simple for anyone in the household to turn it on and off.

• Charge and discharge protection: Retailers list built-in charge and discharge protection, which helps protect the battery from damage.

• Portable, carry-handle design: The compact case has a sturdy top handle, so you can carry it between rooms or take it camping.

• Low running cost: It runs on free solar energy, with no electricity bills.

Ideal For: Homes in areas with unreliable power, rural households, small shops, power outages, camping and emergency backup lighting.
